Our Parish Family

St Sebastian’s Church and Our Parish Family

St Sebastian’s Church is a very special part of our school community. It belongs to the parish of The Three Martyrs, which includes three churches: St Sebastian, St Boniface, and St Thomas of Canterbury. Together, they form one welcoming parish family in the Diocese of Salford.

Our church is located on Gerald Road in Pendleton, Salford, close to our school, helping us to stay closely connected to parish life.

A Church with a Long History

St Sebastian’s Church has been at the heart of the local Catholic community for many years. The parish was first founded in 1892, and the original church was consecrated in 1901.

The church building we use today opened in 1973, continuing a long tradition of prayer and worship in our area.

For generations, families in Pendleton have gathered here to celebrate Mass, receive the sacraments, and grow in their faith.

Our Parish Today

Today, the Parish of the Three Martyrs is a warm and welcoming Catholic community, serving people of all ages. Mass is celebrated regularly at St Sebastian’s, including Sunday Mass and weekday services, bringing the community together in prayer.

The parish is led by Fr Alphonus Anaele.

Our School and Parish Partnership

St Sebastian’s RC Primary School has a close and special relationship with the church. We visit regularly for:

  • School Masses and liturgies

  • Celebration of feasts and special times in the Church year

  • Preparation for the sacraments

Our parish helps us grow in faith, just as we are inspired by our school saint, St Sebastian.

Growing Together in Faith

Being part of St Sebastian’s Church and The Three Martyrs parish helps us to feel part of something bigger—a community where everyone belongs. Together, we learn to pray, celebrate, and live out the message of Jesus in our daily lives.
