Laudato Si Team

laudato Si team.JPG

The Laudato Si’ Team is dedicated to caring for our common home, inspired by Pope Francis’ message in Laudato Si’. This pupil leadership group promotes environmental responsibility, sustainability, and respect for God’s creation across the school community.

The Laudato Si Team are responsible for:

  • Reducing waste

  • Saving energy

  • Encouraging recycling

  • Raising awareness of global environmental issues

The team plays a vital role in promoting pupil voice and shared responsibility within the school, reflecting the Catholic Social Teaching principle of participation, which teaches that everyone has the right and duty to contribute to the life of the community. Members are chosen through a fair and transparent voting process, demonstrating respect for human dignity, equality and mutual respect. By gathering ideas and opinions from their peers, the team ensures that all pupils are listened to and valued as part of the school community, working together for the common good.

The impact of the Laudato Si’ Team can be seen in the positive changes they help bring about, including improved recycling practices, eco-friendly initiatives and a greater awareness of sustainability. Inspired by Pope Francis’ call to care for our common home, the team puts into action the Catholic Social Teaching principle of stewardship of creation, encouraging others to take responsibility for protecting the environment. Through their leadership, they promote solidarity, helping pupils understand how their choices affect both local communities and the wider global family.
