Expressive arts and design

This week in Reception we have been drawing from close observation using different medium – graphite pencil and oil pastel, exploring qualities colour blending. We have really enjoyed using oil pastels.

In Art this half term, Reception are focusing on the artist Eric Carle and exploring illustrations. Today, using flowers and insects , the children had to draw from close observations. They look very carefully at the details they could see.

As part of our DT topic, Reception have completed some research on emergency vehicles using the class iPads. We discussed the features of these vehicles and designed our own.

Reception created some lovely pottery pieces inspired by Spanish pottery we had researched.
