St. Sebastian's R. C. Primary School

Basketball Tournament

On Friday afternoon, in the warmth of the All Hallow's Sports hall, our basketball team went to battle. After attending early morning training sessions, the team were rewarded with fierce competition against other Salford primary schools. The children began with a dominant victory with a full round team performance against a heavily defensive side from St Thomas of Canterbury. Accurate passing and shooting came from all players, donning the burgundy and yellow colours. Two challenging and physical games followed against Holy Family and Cathedral with two very close defeats. The St . Sebastian's team then began to rise back to the top of the table following two outstanding victories against St Thomas' and Holy Family, in quarter finals and the semi final respectively. The day finished with marginal defeat in the final against Cathedral, who were magnificent throughout the whole tournament.

Mr Taylor was incredibly proud of the teams sporting performance and equally their attitude to fight back after  defeats and celebrate as a team in victories. This performance stands us in a great position as we look forward to our next cluster competition - Dodgeball in January.
