Information for parents

These will be given out on Mondays and tested the following Friday. It is imperative that children learn the given spellings, the rule applied to these words, the meaning of the word and the context in which they would be used.

In addition to the weekly spellings, please work with your child on the National Curriculum spellings listed below.

A list of common words children should be able to spell correctly in their own writing is detailed  here:

To meet the Year 2 standards, children also need to be using words with suffixes in their own writing.

Homework is set on Fridays and to be handed in on the following Tuesday. This will be a comprehension and a maths task relating to the current maths focus.

Your child will participate in a PE lesson on Wednesdays. It is important that your child has the appropriate footwear (trainers or pumps) to ensure their safety. PE kits are provided by school.
