PRAYER LIFE OF THE SCHOOL
Prayer and Worship is a fundamental aspect of school life at St. Sebastian's. We celebrate whole school masses together as often as possible and every class attends a weekday mass once a term (usually on a Thursday).
Our pupil liturgy group leads our whole-school liturgy every Friday morning.
Children also have the opportunity to meditate during their weekly sessions in class.
Our Monday morning assembly is always based on the Sunday Gospel. We like to include drama and speakers where we can.
Our celebration assembly acknowledges the gifts that the Lord has given us.
At. St. Sebastian's, we are constantly seeking ways to support others.
In the local community
In October, the pupils brought in food items for the Loaves and Fishes charity - an organisation which supports the homeless and vulnerable in the local community.
At Christmas, the children and staff had an 'Own Clothes Day' and brought in tooth-brushes, hats, gloves and toothpaste. These items were taken to 'Cornerstones' - a charity to support the homeless.
The children of St. Sebastian's have linked up with a centre for vulnerable children in South Africa. They have taken part in a sponsored spell to raise money for the children there.
