Information for parents
These will be given out on a Monday and tested on the Friday - your child will be provided with a log book to work through at home. It is imperative that children learn the given spellings, the rule applied to these words, the meaning of the word and the context in which they would be used.
In addition to the weekly spellings, please work with your child on the National Curriculum spellings listed on the website.
Homework is set on a Friday and to be handed in on the following Tuesday. This will be a curriculum task and a maths task relating to the current maths focus.
Your child will participate in a PE lesson on a Thursday. It is important that your child has the appropriate footwear (trainers or pumps) to ensure their safety and participation. PE kits are provided by school.
In addition to this, your child will attend swimming on a Wednesday. Please ensure that a swim kit is sent in each week in order for your child to meet this area of the curriculum.
By the end of Year 4, your child should be competent in all of the multiplication facts up to 12 x 12. Times tables will be sent home on a Monday and tested every Thursday. Please ensure that these are learned on a daily basis.

Please find attached the current spelling list for year 4. The children are expected to spell all of these words by the end of the school year.
